Liberia, like many other African countries, finds herself with an unbalanced ratio of girls to boys undergoing education. Now, with the help of other local and international organizations interested in gender equality, the country has drafted a national policy on the education of the female child. The policy which is expected to be launched on April 18 seeks to encourage females to enjoy their right to quality basic education. The policy was drafted by members of the Inter-Agency Technical Working Committee. |
